As traditions go, it is not so difficult to accept the general decline of the Stanford football team.

But the indefinite suspension of the Stanford band?

Now you're messing with something sacred, especially this week, with the otherwise morose Cardinal coming to town to play UCLA at the Rose Bowl.

You can have your dinners overlooking the Golden Gate, or your classy wine and brie parties. But for my money, nothing in the Bay Area has been more fun or as consistently entertaining as the wildest, most irreverent college band in the land.
